Sweden sees Malaysia as key investment destination with 97 projects totalling RM7.77b

Tengku Zafrul highlighted these investments created 5,982 job opportunities – April 8, 2025



KUALA LUMPUR, 8 APRIL 2025: MALAYSIA continues to be a key location for Swedish investment, with 97 manufacturing projects valued at RM7.77 billion expected by 2024.

In sharing this achievement, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz highlighted that these investments have also created 5,982 job opportunities.

“Last year, our bilateral trade value reached RM3.58 billion, providing strong evidence of the economic cooperation between Malaysia and Sweden,” he said in a recent post on social media platform X, while also welcoming the new Swedish Ambassador to Malaysia, Niklas Wiberg.

Tengku Zafrul added that many renowned Swedish companies currently operate in Malaysia, including music streaming platform Spotify, fashion retailer H&M, gadget manufacturer Ericsson, vehicle maker Volvo, and furniture giant IKEA.

“We hope the economic relationship between Malaysia and Sweden will continue to grow for our mutual benefit,” he said.
