KUALA LUMPUR, 7 NOVEMBER 2024: The Malaysian government on Thursday launched the InvestMalaysia portal, which aims to be a one-stop gateway for investors to obtain information on Malaysia, to attract global investors and strengthen the country's position as an investment destination.

The portal consolidates key information required for sound and timely investment decisions for investors, according to Bank Negara Malaysia, and highlights and promotes attractive investment opportunities to both domestic and foreign investors.

Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan said the platform will address a long-standing challenge for investors that often leads to delays in investments.

“The InvestMalaysia portal aims to address the gap of finding that final bit of information about investing in Malaysia,” Amir said at the launch.

“What we have built is a platform where you enter with questions and exit with answers, or at the very least being pointed to the right direction to find the right information,” he said.

The InvestMalaysia portal, together with the Investor Relations Office, will act as navigators for portfolio investors looking to participate in the Malaysian market, he added.

It offers comprehensive insights into Malaysia's economic outlook, national policies, business landscape, sector-specific market information and tailored investment facilitation. It also highlights investment opportunities by showcasing a diverse range of product offerings as well as acting as a centralised hub to connect existing and potential investors to relevant government agencies.

“The platform is akin to an arbiter of Malaysia’s macroeconomic strength and investment potential, one that extracts signals about the state and prospects of the country’s economy and financials and impart them seamlessly to investors,” said BNM governor Datuk Seri Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour, who was also present.

The central bank expects the InvestMalaysia portal to enhance investor relations practices and stimulate inflows of high-quality portfolio investments into the country.

The launch was followed by a closed-door investor engagement session attended by over 150 participants, comprising financial investors and capital market players. Discussions revolved around prospects for the economy, progress of key government policies and Malaysia's overall economic strategy, including the recently announced Budget 2025, the central bank said in a statement.
